Sassy Sauces—dessert sauces from former pastry chef Maureen Gallagher Harder—are rich and luxurious. Harder whips up batches of Bittersweet Chocolate, Peanut Butter Fudge, Milk Chocolate Caramel, Spicy Dark, and Rum Caramel, all of which can be spooned over ice cream, pound cake, or fruit, or blended into milkshakes and floats.
We make our sauces in small artisanal batches so we can pay attention to every detail. Only the highest quality ingredients pure Vermont cream and butter and Belgium and French chocolate. We never put any chemicals or preservatives in our sauces because we don’t want to ruin them. All our sauces are gluten free.

Our Story
Owner and Chef Maureen Harder started Sassy Sauces from a passionate desire to share unique chocolate sauces from quality ingredients. After years of working as a pastry chef in restaurants Maureen wanted to combine the finest chocolate with wholesome all natural ingredients to create a luscious product.
Maureen is a graduate of Peter Kumps Cooking School in New York City where she received a degree in baking and pastry arts with honors. Upon graduation Maureen worked with Award winning French pastry chef Remy Funfrock at NYC Café Boulud. Other restaurants Maureen has worked in include: Grill 23 as pastry assistant, The Federalist where she worked under acclaimed pastry chef Judy Mattera and Birch Street Bistro where she served as pastry chef. She has been a chef at various catering companies such as Gourmet Caterers in Boston, Gracious Thymes in New York City and Blackstone and Blue Rocks in Newport Rhode Island. Maureen also enjoyed traveling through the Caribbean as a private chef on yachts. In addition to her culinary experience Maureen is a University of Delaware graduate.
